sacramento to pismo,best route

i've always drove to pismo down I5 to hwy 41 in kettleman city then cut across.and that is how mapquest says i should go.but my navigation system says to drive down I5 to santa nella and cut over to gilroy and hit the 101.for fastest time.?i've never drove to pismo that way,is that best or should i stick to what i know.

I always go the way you know and the way mapquest says... Looking at a map, I can't really see a better way than what we've done in the past.

I5 to 41 to 46 to 101 is the best way probably i have friend that come that way from north all the time...
